Lucy’s eye.

I never updated after our last eye dr appointment at mayo a couple weeks ago.  Lucy’s seeing 20/50 out of her left eye (cataract eye) and 20/20 out of her right.  Dr Bothum said we can start tapering her patching and stop on her birthday in September and then re-assess in November at her next appointment. Even through the mask you could see Lucy’s GLEE!!! We will have a huge patch party to celebrate!  Lucy continues to amaze us on how unphased she is by wearing a patch everyday. We are thankful for the ways it’s strengthened her eye and given her such a amazing vision.  Her appointments to Mayo are a special thing to me. I love the long drive and our tradition of going to Panera afterwards. I love spending time one on one with Lucy!  We are proud of you Lucy girl! xo edc.

Hudson 4 of July!

This weekend was a blur of activity. We had SO much fun being in the booster days parade in downtown Hudson. It was a highlight of the past year for sure. On Friday night we went to some friends house to decorate our float. The kids ran around in 98 degree heat, while the adults "supervised" and made our float look amazing. These three blond diaper babes. <3 Saturday morning this huge crew lined up at the start. The parade was awesome- we handed out 1,000 freezees, invite cards and stickers. After the parade some friends invited us to their pool. We stayed until we were all prunes and it was time for dinner. This was one day packed with all things summer and fun. If you've been around Olle for any significant amount of time you'll know about Easton. His favorite 9 year (or maybe person) from Midcurrent. Easton is the sweetest to Olle, he plays with him, gives him lots of attention and in return, Olle follows him around like a puppy calling ...

Friday Favorites

Update! I had LOTS of margin in my week and it felt so good. We didn’t go anywhere and had to stay home for a few different things, and it was amazing to have time.  I know not every week can look like this, but it sure felt right for this week. I love taking pictures of fresh bread. Why?? I don’t know. It just makes me so happy. We got a new couch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was on our list back in July when we moved in, but we didn’t know couches were so expensive until we went shopping. So we saved for 10 months and voila! New couch! We can’t stop talking about how much we love it. I think about 20x a day we comment on how obsessed we are with it. #adult. These 3 pictures is what margin looks like to me. 2 clean cars later we played/ sat outside for 4 hours. I love this for so many reasons, but watching my kids be kids is at the very core of why I need more margin in my life. Being able to have the time to stop and do nothing makes life so sweet for me. I am than...

Merry Christmas from the Carlsons

Merry Christmas friends and family! We didn't send out a card this year, so here is our letter with our 2016 favorites: We kicked off the year in Mexico with my family. It was the vacation of a lifetime. We had so much fun swimming in the pool, playing in the sand and enjoying time with the fam.   Below is a recent picture of the kids. Lucy turned 3 in September and Olle turned 1 in July.  Lucy is full of stories and has the most amazing imagination, she loves princesses, watching shows, art projects and baking with mom. When she grows up she wants to be a princess so she can help people.  Olle is an absolute joy. His laugh will turn any day around and he is 100% boy. Loves trucks, tractors, and throwing balls. He doesn't know many words, but he gives the tightest hugs and we just love him so, so much.  Here we are hiking around on the North Shore this winter. We love exploring with the kids and it's fun to think of how these vacations will o...

Summa time

Sweet Summer time! It is the BEST! We are loving every minute of warm weather and lots of fam time. Here are some recent happenings:  We visited Ashley and Mason at their new home in River Falls. It was so fun to be together and chase the kids around!  J + M celebrated their anniversary and I got to hang out with the kids! We had a blast!  Amos LOVES the "babe's" and he always has a kiss for "babe ucy"  This is our lives these days at my parents house. Where we once played hours of cards inside and bags outside.... now we try to keep the kids corralled and entertained! Love this picture of Lucy and my mom.  We finally celebrated Mother's Day by taking my mom to the Northern Vineyards Winery in Stillwater. It was the perfect day for a glass of wine on the roof top, we had the greatest time chatting and enjoying 3 hours, kid-free! Thank you Grandpa for watching Lucy Bear!  We got to hang with Ashley! The best!  Luc...
