Merry Christmas Eve Eve at MC Nothing says Christmas like plaid.  Jingle jog/ Santa shuffle/ Reindeer run/ Frosty frolick.We ran and we coffee’d and I love these ladies.   Happy 101 Great Grandma! They had so much fun Arlich Christmas party 🥰 Pre-date w this guy 😍 Happy 40 to our FAVORITE GUY!!  Family time at the Y, sauna date for me and sten, watching the movie David, San Pedro’s then home for the Amazing Race finale. It was a great day! Twinning with sis. Partner Dartner forever.   Gingerbread house competition in which my team won 🥇  Coffee and pastries 🥐 with my favorite Californian. 3 hours passed before we looked at the clock and both quickly packed up and realized we had to get home!  Silent night with Sigge ♥️ 🕯️ It’s been a good December and I don’t want it to end.  xo. edc.   

How am I writing a Christmas post?? Didn't 2025 just start? Here are the things that brought me joy this year: Our kids are big and not babies anymore. and while I am mourning that phase being over (daily) I am LOVING every single part of seeing who God is shaping these 3 awesome kids to be. Lucy (12) is in Middle School! 6th grade has been so good to her. She has tried ALL the things. Including: Cross Country, trying out (and making) a play, being in an extra choir, and writing club. I think the highlight of her fall has been attending youth group with all her friends. Lucy is the kindest kid in the world. She is an easy companion and Sten and I love everything about watching her grow up. She is a true beauty inside and out. Olle (10) is in 4th grade and is the coolest guy. He continues to dominate at every sport he tries. He is a great friend, a leader wherever he goes and  if he could spend all day everyday playing/talking or watching sports he would. My day started yesterday taking Lucy to Starbucks to use a gift card she got on a $7 peppermint mocha (when did these get so expensive?). I like taking her to school. Lucy’s an easy companion. She doesn’t require much. Just your presence.  My girl.   I hadn’t run my 2 miles, so after school, in between wrapping presents, and before dropping Sigge off at a birthday party I got downstairs and did a treadmill run to keep my “Runcember” streak alive. It felt good. And the boys came down to shoot hoops while I ran, so I didn’t feel like I was alone in the basement.  I ended up giving Sigge a bath after his birthday party and it had been so long since I had given a bath I realized. It actually made my eyes sting with tears as I thought about how I spent 7 years in this house giving baths and now I just don’t. My kids are old. And they can wash themselves. After getting Sigge all clean he asked for the toy bucket. And he stayed in the bath and played until he was all prune-y. an...

I'm behind in life. I hit the wall last week, was up half the night fretting and then spiraled out of control and cried myself to school. I'm better now. The weekend is always a good reset for me. Here is what we've been up to the last 2 weeks. Not in order by the way :) We finished another Christmas puzzle. Found this picture of Lucy and her pal Rosie after youth group on my phone We went to the Y and Lucy and I walked the track together. She wanted to run a couple laps and my legs just could not do it. so instead I took pictures of Lucy doing her thing. A small group stroll through downtown Hudson while talking about our book, did a body good. Love my Christmas-y door Winter is feeling like winter. It’s snowy and some days are frigid and others are comfortable. But I’m enjoying the blanket of silence and stillness this snow has created  Cozy Saturday night: eating homemade pizza, watching survivor and wearing Christmas pjs.  Olle dominated in basketball 🏀 last Saturday. ...

It snowed last week! We woke up to a fresh blanket.  Andrea and I met for a walk at 6:30am and the only regret was that it wasn’t windy-er/ blowing harder/ icy-er.  NOT.  But once the wind died down the kids had a blast all weekend playing in the snow nonstop  We also completed our first Christmas puzzle.  Went for a snowy turkey trot Thanksgiving kids table.  YUM. I love thanksgiving so much  Celebrating 17 years back where it all began at Lake Elmo Inn! So fun!  I also hosted a wreath making workshop at church and genuinely just enjoyed my time away from the normal routine.  It’s December. Where has 2025 gone???? I am excited for this season. I am ready to soak up the moments of wonder while my kids are still young, bake the treats, wrap the presents, read the Christmas books, dance to the songs, celebrate the traditions, and remember that Advent is a season of waiting.
