What a great week. Seriously. One of the best. The weather was amazing and we spent time with a lot of people we love.  1: flowers from a friend’s garden, how gorgeous are these? I’m amazed that people can grow things like this.  We biked the 5 mile loop in Stillwater around the new bridge to the old bridge stopping to get a coffee and stare at the water and chase after these 4 very active boys. It was extremely beautiful. The leaves are starting to change and I feel so thankful for these warm temps.  This is the outtake. What a funny picture! Ha! This was my favorite run of the week,  These pictures are out of order. Pizza dinner and a babysitting swap with friends.  Alll this lettuce is from our garden and I ate only salads today bc I am so proud of it. 😂  Look at allllll these kiddos. I love them so. Hannah and I have been on such a good streak of Tuesday workouts. You will find us doing burpees, chasing kids in-between sets, counting down the jumping lunges, deep in conversation while trying to catch our breath and holding planks in one of our driveways. I love a good sweat session and I love friends. So Tuesday workouts are the best combo.  I’m especially thankful for Hannah. She is so fun, so intentional and she’s my inspiration bc she’s doing an IRONMAN in fall of 2021! I leave our conversations a better person every.single.time.  Tuesday workouts= good for my mind, body and soul. xo  edc    

 Lucy had her 7th birthday yesterday! We celebrated with cheeseburgers on the grill, French fries and chocolate cake with white frosting. She requested a special date with dad downtown, and we ended the night with root beer floats.  This girl is so special to me. She’s kind, she’s thoughtful, she’s a loyal lover and she’s beautiful.  We worked on her Frozen LEGO castle a big portion of the afternoon yesterday and my favorite thing was how into playing with the mini figurines and all the little snowmen she was. both Sten and I kept asking, do you want to build or do you want to play? I hope she never loses that big imagination  I hope 7 is good to her. I hope she keeps learning how to love herself, love God and love others and that this year brings her abundant joy!  xo. edc. 

 We met a bunch of friends at the Apple orchard on Saturday morning and it was SO fun. The weather was perfect and my friend Hannah said it best: I love anytime I can let my kids can run free with friends. 👈That is exactly what happened. We got out a lot of energy, picked a peck of Honeycrisp Apples and soaked in the beginning of FALL!  xo  edc

 Yesterday I had my family over for dinner and I found so much joy in setting the table. There was absolutely nothing fancy about it. My placemats, plates, silverware, napkins and glasses didn’t match. There was no grand centerpiece or name cards, but the act of putting in the extra leaf and placing each setting made me grateful for the anticipation of the people that would be sitting around the table. I think a set table brings so much comfort because it says: I have planned for you, I’m expecting you, and I’m so glad you’re here. Getting ready for dinner yesterday was just what I needed. There are things right now that I can not control, but I can control outer order in my home and what I put on my table and who I invite to sit around it. And that is enough right now.  xo. edc. 

 Looking through pictures and can’t believe that this was Sigge not too long ago. Why is it so hard watching your last baby grow up? Is this true for all people? Or am I weird? I love watching Lucy grow up. I get excited for each new stage and phase. I love seeing Olle get faster and stronger and learn how to play games and have friends. But Sigge? No. I want to go back to this photo and hold this tiny baby and trace my finger along his cheeks and watch him sleep. I really feel like I did a good job of soaking up his baby-ness. Yet I still miss it. I do love Sigge’s laugh right now. I wish I could add videos to my blog bc you’d love his laugh too. I also love his intense love of mamamamamamama! And how he has started to bend his knees and “dance” to music. He is starting to get interested in books, and reading to him before bedtime has been giving me so much joy.  Oh Sigge.  Little Lucy girl had her first dance class last night and she is hooked. There was a lot of anticipation leading up to the day and when it arrived she came running off the bus and changed straight into her tights and leotard an entire hour early.  I remember being excited for extra curriculars as well, however I was never in dance, so this is new territory for me. I’m so glad she’s so excited! She came home last night and said she couldn’t wait for next week— the sign of a fun time!  She’s in the same class as Lyla and I love these 2 little friends! They are the sweetest! ♥️ Enjoy every minute little dancer! xo. edc. 

 Had a great ru this morning and stopped to admire this field of sunflowers. It matches my Boston shirt so I had to take a picture. What a happy way to start my day.  xo. edc. 

 Our last hurrah of summer has come and gone. We lived it up and squeezed the most out of it all, including this lasttttt trip to Bag Lake. Sten and I were reminiscing about how we were here exactly 7 years ago when I was pregnant with Lucy. So fun to think of all the memories our kiddos have here at this special place.  One last run around the lake. Finished my 16th 20 miler for the year. 4 to go!  Breathing in the smells, taking a lot of last looks around and remembering it all in my mind so that “when I’m far away from summer, when frosted windows cloud the sun, I close my eyes and once again I am up north at the cabin”.
