Sigge and I kicked off the weekend with a trip to the pier for a walk. I love spending time with Sigge, he is SO fun and cute and silly. He insisted on bringing his tiger, and I can't handle how much he loves that thing. He's also extremely friendly saying hi to everyone we passed. So thankful for this time with my little guy. We headed to Big C on Friday after school for an indoor bonfire (fire in the fireplace), homemade pizza and yahtzee games. The next morning we made another fire, ate pancakes for breakfast, took a family stroll and headed home... it was less than a 24 hour getaway, but something about the freezing cold weather made it feel so cozy and fun. Fam time is the best time. The weather warmed back up and was almost in the 80's by the end of the weekend, but for 15 hours it felt like fall and we took advantage of it! xo. edc.  

Sometimes a screen shot is the perfect way to describe life.  ME: Just finished this book and it was a good read! No thinking involved, just a mindless easy read/listen.  I want to make these chocolate chip vegan cookies! YUM.  Also thought this was HILARIOUS.  And think I’ll try this for October!  xo. edc.   

 I love this!  Today is another home day with Lunch Bunch sandwiched in the middle. The cooler Fall temps are making me equally sad and happy. I guess I love the seasons after all :)  I sometimes can't believe that I get to be home and bake cakes, listen to audio books while folding laundry and go on walks around the block with Sigge. I have had a major heart transition and feel so good about THIS time of my life. I'm trying to soak it in and enjoy each moment.  xo. edc. 

 Lucy is EIGHT!  I can barely believe it! My baby is a kid and she’s growing into an amazing young lady right before my eyes.  Things Lucy loves: - Barbies and the world she creates around them - Reading… she can’t get enough  - All things girl: makeup, fashion, nails, long hair - Family. She’s loyal and she has a big heart.  - School: music, art, math, reading - TV Shows/ movies.  - Giraffes 🦒  - SWIMMING!  She’s kind and loving, unique and funny, she makes everything better and we love her so much!  Praying year 8 is full of all the things she loves and more!  xo! edc 

 How do I even start?  I had so much fun training this summer. Running more miles than I’ve ever run before, hitting crazy splits on my speed days and only taking a rest day every 10-12 days… my body held up and I am so proud of the time I dedicated to this fall marathon.  I was a ball of nerves and excitement during my taper and when race day came I was more than ready to see what I could do!  My “A” goal was a sub-3 marathon, my “B” goal was a PR. I hit my B goal and won overall female and came in 3rd overall behind two guys. I have a lot to be excited about, and also still feel like I can be faster! I went out strong hitting the half way point at 1:30:13, I thought for sure I could shave off 1 second per mile for the remaining 13, but around mile 15 I started to slow and then I just kept getting slower and slower. I couldn’t pick it up at the end, and I had to really fight for those last 2 miles! Lots of self talk and thinking about just putting one foot in front ...

How did Labor Day come and go? I got to spend it at one of my favorite places on earth, with some of my favorite people on earth. I couldn't love these 2 more. They MUST be besties forever.  On Monday we hit the Gateway Trail and biked. I ran because I forgot my bike adapter to pull Sigge in the trailer.... Trying to keep up with bikers while pushing a stroller is HARD. I also wasn't planning on Lucy being so fast/not taking a million breaks, so I was solo for the majority of the 11 miles. It really didn't phase me, as I love running new routes and the tree canopy was so pretty. Jessica and the kids started school yesterday, I usually view that as my official end to summer since I won't get to see my sister every other day anymore.  Sunday was the PERFECT bonfire night. Mom even grabbed the sparklers and we celebrated end of summer with all my favorite things-- Bonfire, S'mores, Sparklers. On Saturday morning we went to Matt's garden and got SO many goodies!!! I...

First of all-- we were all feeling that this sign was incredibly accurate as to how we feel about summer ending...  But we had a super successful first week and it feels good to be back to a little routine and the kids LOVE school Can't believe my Olle-man is officially a Kindergatener! And Lucy is a big 2nd grader! Look at these happy kids. We're lucky our bus stop is full of fun friends  Praying for Lucy and Olle as they head into River Crest. I pray they shine bright, be the leaders God has created them to be, and have FUN. xo. edc.
