Be better.

My Sunday miles have been chilly and sunny. I can’t believe the sun is out so early these days. I barely even need a headlamp!  Sunday run is KEY for me before church. It fills me with all the joy I need to pour out every ounce of energy into all the people that walk through our doors on Sunday morning.   Lindsey gave me this bracelet that says BE BETTER and I had it on at the gym the other day then noticed my socks have the same message. 😜 Loud and clear!  Each day I want to be better than the last.  Also— who’s kid is this?!? Seriously. Sigge is my most random child and I wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s constantly asking for “uppy”, giving me snuggles, talking about “booty butts” and being the cutest 3 yr old on the planet. I love him so much!  My life these days: Running, dreaming about running, cleaning my house, church building meetings, church meetings, thinking about becoming an official church, and trying my hardest to spend quality time with ...

The first nice day + Olles tooth 🦷

We finally had a “sit outside and play and watch people walk outside and say hi to your neighbors” kind of day! I needed some sunshine and warmth and this afternoon was just the greatest.  Got some bubble time with Sigge, some snuggles with Lucy and…. Olle lost his first tooth!!!!!!!!!!! He was SO excited!!!! He let me yank it right out. It became wiggly yesterday and he must have worked it all day at school because by the time he got off the bus it was very ready to pull.  Kids are amazing.   I don’t even know how I am going to deal when my tiny little Olle looses his front tooth and gets 2 huge teeth and suddenly looks like an adult. I can’t even think about it.  xo.edc.

Boston Marathon Monday

I think Boston Marathon Monday is one of my favorite days of the year! Whether I ever get to go to Boston to run in the race again or not, the magic of the day lives on in my heart and mind forever.  There was an AWESOME group of elite women runners and it was super fun to watch the nail biting finish!  I also loved tracking all my friends that were running. So so inspirational!  After watching, I decided I needed to run a 1/2 marathon. It was the gloomiest/ rainy day so I checked Sigge into the kids area and knocked out 13.1 on the treadmill before the kids area closed. There was one point, I think at mile 5, where my mind started telling me I couldn’t do this (since I haven’t run more than 8 miles in like 5 months) but I pushed through and finished with a 7:30 mile average and it gave me all the feel-goods of training. I think it’s time to sign up for something!!!  There is nothing like the Boston Marathon to make you feel like you can and should go out and run 26....

Easter 2022🐣 ✝️🐰🥚

Quick pic after church.  Outtake.    Church was BONKERS! Almost 500 people over 2 services, we had to go down in the basement and find folding chairs… I love Easter! Easter egg hunt at grandma and grandpas before it rained. I love watching these kids run around the yard I grew up in. Last Easter at 8618 Jenner Lane 😢 These kids are just getting so big and it feels like time is moving so fast.  Loved spending this day with my family! xo edc.

Willow River

Yesterday was a PERFECT day for a hike to the falls. Sigge skipped his nap, we picked up Juliet and headed out for some 🥾 hiking… aka really slow walking.  The Falls are flowing really fast and loud right now. The kids thought that was fun. We climbed all the stairs to the top and headed back, petting dogs and taking lots of water breaks.  We stopped at the gas station after for a tootsie pop and the afternoon felt complete. Spring is here today and will be gone by this weekend. But I enjoyed the sun ☀️!!!! (These 2 are like 7 months apart, and they are soooo funny together) ♥️  xo. edc.

Life Lately.

This is the most random photo dump EVER… but here’s what life has looked like lately.  If there was ever an accurate description for “church rat” this would be the picture that accompanied the meaning. These kids come early and stay until the doors are locked. They are crazy and run around and cause so much trouble… but are also just the absolute best and make Sundays the ultimate family/friends day! Last week J and I took the girls to see Anne Frank at Hudson High School. It was SO good! We were extremely impressed. Lucy wants to be in theater so badly, so this only solidified her excitement about being in a play someday :) Impromptu dinner with friends during a rare 40* evening! These are the nights I just love  Pals.  I was SO exhausted from hosting the IF:Gathering at church this weekend. I couldn’t even think about parenting. So a movie and popcorn it was! Because: Sten and Olle got to go the Wild game with Hudson and PJ! They had so much fun and even got to go in th...
