COVID day 13 lots of outside time

We spent the majority of the day outside. We ate outdoors did school outside and didn’t come in until the last possible moment to get dinner ready. I got in a good run this morning and I can tell I moved a lot today bc my body is tired. Shorts weather! iPad learning time outside is wayyyy better than inside Sigge was trying so hard to climb up the slide  Then he wanted to crawl away.  Thank goodness for this swing set Always matching with her patch Took a very isolated 8 mile loop today, and glad I did, bc this was a pretty sight to see  Love this one.  Surprise snack bowl! Once they eat what’s around the bowl they get to see the surprise underneath! Today it was 3 chocolate chips.  xo. edc

COVID day12

Sunday’s feel special because we get to watch Midcurrent on TV! Some happy things today: 1// a hot tub sit early morning 2// homemade bagels for breakfast, homemade crustless quiche with zucchini muffins for lunch and whole30 chicken chili for dinner= we ate really well today. 3// Sunday power clean. Cranked the Frozen 2 soundtrack, assigned everyone jobs and cleaned the house in 57:57. ⏱ 4// family ‘deck of cards’ workout and of course Cosmic Kids Yoga. 5// family walk 6// lots of LEGO playing 7// sten and I put the kids to bed and sat out in the hot tub and it was so relaxing Back to “school” tomorrow... I feel mostly ready to teach these kiddos. Hoping Sigge always SOME learning to happen.... xo. edc.

COVID DAY 11

I’m glad we were outside most of the day yesterday bc today was miserably rainy for the majority of the day. I managed to get in a run this morning before the rain and wanted to see what downtown Hudson was like and it is a ghost town. It’s so weird to see. I’m glad I was able to capture this as I’m certain it will never look like this again once this is all over Sten and I were bored this afternoon. I can’t think of the last time we had NO plans during an entire weekend. There were things we could have done, but starting projects with a one year old around is a form of torture, I’m pretty sure. So instead we had a happy hour glass of wine and made bagels to enjoy tomorrow morning for church online :) I’m missing family today. Wishing we could be together for church and dinner like we usually do on Saturday nights. But I know it will feel that much sweeter when we do get together. until tomorrow. xo. edc

COVID day 10. Best day yet

We eeked our every last minute yesterday and I didn’t have a chance to blog last night as I was SO tired. Pictures and a couple sentences of the best day yet. We played outside for hours. Moving from a walk, to bikes, to the swing set, to car wash, water table, more chalk... Lucy at one point said: this is the most fun time I’ve ever had outside! Sten made a quick errand to Trader Joe’s and said he had to wait outside to get in so there was only 25 people in the store at a time. Crazy. Days like yesterday make this feel do-able. Thankful for chalk and sunshine and Sten. Who was around a lot of the day to take A LOT of the load. xo. edc.

COVID- day 9 SUNSHINE!

The sun was out today! 1// sten has been working so hard the last couple weeks, and I have small windows where I can go for a run. And I take them! Today I was just going to do 5 miles, and then I thought ‘this is my ONLY break of the entire day’, so I went for the whole hour and ended up with almost 8 miles. So glad I did bc the rest of my day has been nonstop parenting! 2// we got outside this morning before lunch and chalked and walked and biked. Pretty sure Sigge would live outside if we let him.  3// I wanted to make Sigges Christmas stocking BEFORE Christmas, but never got around to it. And I made it today! It’s super simple, but I’m glad it’s done bc tomorrow we are celebrating Christmas in March! Just for fun :) 4// Sten was out filming for the next 2 Sunday’s so I let the kids pick dinner and they chose breakfast for dinner! EASY! We made pudding too and Sigge LOVED it.  Lucy Olle and I laughed so hard at how much he loved it. I lov...

COVID day 8.

Much better day today! Embracing it all! My house is a mess, our routine is nonexistent, but when I asked the kids what their favorite part of the day was they said there were too many fun things to be able to pick just one. So I’m happy about that. I had a fun day too. 1//Sten and I started the morning with a workout, then I went for a short run: 2// we made scones! Yum! And this meme is Hilariously accurate: 3// we did a FaceTime workout (gym class) with cousins again at 10am and grandma read the kiddos a story on zoom at 3pm (I was using my phone for both of these so I had to steal my sisters pictures!)   4// a little birdie dropped Starbucks off on our front porch for us... ahem, Hannah! 5// while Sigge napped we made an extension for our dollhouse(still needs to be painted) and made a guitar 🎸 and a sword 🗡 out of a diaper box and some duct tape. 6// I made vegetables for dinner— because, you know, scones and Starbucks, the kids played, and fought, ...

COVID-19 day 7 walks, runs and W30 white chicken chili

It’s hard to believe that a week ago my kids were still in school... Today we got word that we wouldn’t be going back to school until April 24th. So it’s time to really hunker down and find a good routine. I’m not sure what it was, but today was hard for me. The kids were good, I think my mental game was off and I didn’t wake up before my family and start my day reading the Bible and journaling. Throwing yourself into parenting is never a good idea and it made today tough. Tomorrow  is bound to be a better day! Here’s a snapshot of our Tuesday: 1// started our morning with a FaceTime workout with cousins. 2// the big kids joined me on a super slow 6 mike run. I thought I was going to die pushing them! Haha! But it was actually kind of nice to have the company, as running solo has been feeling a bit lonely. Not sure if you can tell, but our favorite park has caution tape around it. We noticed when we were out for our run today. So crazy.  3// the kids did some ...
