Currently the weekend is giving me life. Like breathing some happiness and joy right into where I needed it most.  An early morning run with Haley (outside) for the first time in a week was a major step in my happiness. And honestly- I’m glad January is over. It was not our best month. Full of more downs than ups, some failed resolutions and just a bunch of bummers. BUT tomorrow is February (my favorite month for many reasons) and I’m taking a different approach. What else is happening?  I made skillet pizza last weekend and the crust was thick, the cheese got crispy around the edges and it was tasty.  Lucy made cookies on Saturday. I love the look of a batch of cookies.   Wayyyyyyy too many treadmill runs.  Qwirkle with this dude. He’s so cute.  Harry and Sigge playing ping pong was very funny to watch. I drew Chloe Kim. Tell me you’re excited about the Olympics without telling me you’re excited about the Olympics.  Twas very cold. 🥶 and also v...

Wknd.

It’s already Tuesday, but we had a good weekend filled with lots of outdoorsy things.  Night skiing Friday night was a highlight for sure. I wish I could include a video of Sigge flying down the black diamond. Sten I stood at the top waiting for him to wipe out and when he made it to the bottom unscathed (miraculously) we exchanged puzzled looks of amazement!🫢  Lucy and her pals spent the weekend being pre-teens at Winter Rush. She had the best time and also came back extremely tired and with a sore throat… seems about right for a youth retreat.  We also took the boys ice fishing. Which was COLD. And we didn’t catch anything, but it was an experience and now we can say we’ve done it :) Olle celebrated 10 1/2! Feels surreal that his 10th birthday was 6 months ago on the shores of Portage Lake.  Sten and I got out for a sauna date. Our favorite way to spend a Sunday evening and we prepared the week ahead by prepping lots of food/ lunches and cleaning up the house....

The rest of break + HNY

I can’t believe we have to go back to school tomorrow! Two weeks flew as they always do. We packed in a trip to Michigan, time with friends and our first time as a family going skiing.  We hit the slopes at Hyland Hills and after 3-4 hours on the bunny hill everyone made it up the chair lift and down a green a few times! First ski outing was a success! I packed lunches and hot chocolate, the weather was great and i can’t describe how proud i was of Lucy and Sigge for trying a new thing and crushing it.  Winter when there’s snow > winter when there’s no snow.  Our drive to Michigan was wonderful, the kids didn’t even finish a whole movie. They were busy playing games, doing mad libs and eating snacks.  When we arrived:barely any snow and 40 degrees When we left: they’d gotten a massive storm that took out power for 24+ hours. The wind was CRAZY and we owe Sten’s family big time for the care they took of the kids in less than ideal circumstances.  Sten and I we...
