sunday.morning

Current situation: sleeping baby on my lap. Hot coffee in my mug. Educated book with no interruptions. I cannot think of a better morning.  xo. edc.

Sigge 5 months.

How can my baby be 5 months old??? Suddenly I’m jealous of all those mom-to-be’s because they are just starting their newborn journeys and mine feels like it’s slipping away. We’ve had a fun month with Sigge as he’s finally getting used to other people and is much happier overall. He loves his family, and seems to be ok with most other people for some period of time as long as he’s not too tired or hungry. He is so loved, adored by all his cousins and all the girls at church. He is so lucky to have the coolest big kids to look up to and lots of buddies to grow up with! Oh Sigge-boy. You are special. Loves his blankets! New toys and very into rattles  All of these boys are within 3 months of each other! They’ll all be in the same class!   And lastly I think these 2 cousins have a special bond. Sigge is always calm in Amos’ arms ♥️

Halfway through Summer

Summer is halfway through and this makes me sad. I’m trying not to think too much about it and focus on the positives— like this heat we’ve been having! I love this hot weather and since we have a place to go to escape the heat I don’t mind. We’ve been spending a lot of time in Stillwater. My grandma is still in the rehabilitation center there after having surgery on her leg - and now aunt Pam and uncle Dan are in town from Pennsylvania. Each morning we pack up our bags and head there and then drive home with extremely sleepy kids. It’s glorious.  Oh. Summer. xo. edc.

1959 airbnb camper.

We made a stop in Onaway Michigan on our way to camp, and I am so glad we did. We found an airbnb about 40 mins from Mackinaw and about 8 hours into our 12 hour drive. It was the perfect way to break up the trip. The hosts were awesome. They rented out their 1959 vintage camper, but what was even more amazing was the beautiful gardens and pool in their backyard. The kids thought it was the coolest thing, and after we got everyone to bed we sat out on their patio and enjoyed a glass of wine, feeling the calm of the start of vacation and the carefree feeling that comes with it. Debbie and Klaus were so kind to our kids and sent them on their way with little fairies from their garden and even a little car for Olle. We would love to go back if we decide to do Mackinac some year. So fun!   driving over the bridge. it is really amzing. Debbie's beautiful gardens! perfect way to spend an afternoon after being in the car for 8 hours! my girl. couldn't lov...

Olle is 4!!

How is it that Olle boy is 4 years old?!?! Our sweet, opinionated, passionate, particular, sensitive, fun, funny, and smart boy! Chocolate cake-- request of the birthday boy how lucky to be eating cake down by the lake, with a million cousins giving you all their love. Our guy! We ended this absolutely perfect day by a night at the point. If I could pick my dream day for my birthday it'd be exactly this Michigan day surrounded by my family and being outside from sun up to sun down. Oh Olle-- you make us so happy. I know year 4 is going to be a good one for this guy. He is ready to try out school, make some of his own friends and perfect his basketball/baseball/soccer/golf/frisbee/football/sport skills. He loves older boys and looks up to anyone with an age higher than his. He has the most infectious laugh and his sweet handsome face makes even his tantrums tolerable. I love him SO much. xo. edc.

Family Camp.

Where do I even begin? We had an absolutely wonderful week. Lots of time with cousins, lots of time at the beach, lots of treats at the canteen, a lost tooth, a special 4 year old birthday, a night at the point, a run to and from the point and many lakeside chats. Returning to routine is going to be very hard as we’ve just spent 9 days doing whatever our hearts desired and eating food that we didn’t have to  prepare. The only good thing is that we still have half of summer left and A LOT to look forward too. the view that greeted me when I got to the point. This was the view from the porch of our cabin. The kids spent so much time in these hammocks, I got home and instantly started online scouting for the best deal to get our own Lucky for Sigge he was well-loved and taken care of all week by all these big helpers The special Olle-Jonah bond continues. my little buddddddd! Love these cousins!! Nancy's cabin has alllllll the red vines Sten and I ...

michigan 💛

I’m sitting on our porch after a run this morning looking out watching the sunrise over portage lake. I’m thankful that vacation has just begun and I have an entire week to look forward to. xo. edc

Lucy’s haircut.

It was salon night at our house yesterday. Sten was buzzing Olle, while I chopped off Lucy’s hair. She looks so old and grown up now. But I think it will be an awesome feel for summertime. Look at this cutie! ♥️ xo. edc.

20 miles. 20 weeks.

Can’t believe Sigge will be 20 weeks on Friday. I completed my 20 miler the other morning and although it was a little hot, overall it was such a good morning for me. A beautiful sunrise. And a huge goal checked offf my list. 20 whole weeks with Sigge. What a lucky family we are! xo. edc
