SB second half. + chocolate cake.

Our main girl celebrated 12.5.... how will I have a teenager in 6 months???? This chocolate cake was a winner of a recipe. Twas simple enough and the outcome was top notch. Lucy made a good choice in chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream icing-- the combo was delicious. Happy 1/2 Birthday sweet Lucy. ILYSM.  Started Saturday running in SHORTS for the first time.  11.1 miles at a ridiculously fast pace for a run with friends. All worth it for the chats and the smiles. Stillwater was beautiful this morning. Then we spent the.rest.of.the.day.outside.  We read, we ate lunch, we chalked, we basketballed, we jumped on the trampoline, we read some more, we went on multiple walks/ rollerblades and we SOAKED in allllllllll the 75 degree sun. I finally went to the library... because I am trying really hard to be on my phone less and reading a book is a great distraction. This has been a good book so far! Olle got a little sunburned. He probably shot 1,000 baskets today. Tuesday w...

Spring Break so far.

It sure doesn’t feel like spring break! It’s -9 degrees and we just got 12 inches of snow. But despite the weather being less than ideal, waking up without an alarm and spending the day doing whatever I want is lovely.  Yesterday I vacuumed crumbs out of my drawers….  On Sunday I spent about 4 hours painting the mug above. I can’t remember the last time I got lost in an art project. I love the mug so much I keep making warm things so I can use it throughout the day.  St. Paul was off school yesterday so Jessica and the kids stopped over for games and lunch. After I took the kids to the Y, then dropped the boys off for some sledding at Weitkamp.  Sigge and I played in the snow on Sunday and shoveled. My upper body is still hurting.  Lucy went to a murder mystery birthday party. Love when my kids get to do fun things!   Last, I came across this and found it extremely accurate and hilarious.  Today I have to grocery shop/ run a couple errands and then get...

40 💐

Pictures are out of order, but let’s talk about turning 40. There were many flowers involved.  ….what is more beautiful than a cart full of Trader Joe’s flowers? Nothing.  Actual birthday: sun came out ☀️ So many of the parents in my class knew it was my birthday. They gave me gifts and coffees and flowers 🥹 Jessica and I had a sister day. We had coffee and pastries, massages and brews and had uninterrupted time together which was the greatest gift of all.  Flowers from students.  Birthday morning 5:30am sculpt class at lighthouse. Such a great way to start the day.  Then got my free Starbucks drink.  More flowers from students ♥️ After Lucy’s choir concert we went out for treats with grandma and grandpa 🥳 Perfect way to end birthday day.  The amount of salt on this margarita rim was perfect IMO.  I got to learn how to throw some pottery with friends!!!! I was horribly bad at this skill. But I will improve! These 3 made me feel so loved and cele...
