VID!

Our house caught the ‘vid! Almost a year after the pandemic hit, it has officially closed in on us.  Thankful that so far it’s just a mild case for Sten, and the rest of us are good. We are embracing the extra family time and the kids think it’s the greatest thing ever that they don’t have to go to school.  Yesterday it was 45* and we were in sweatshirts on the driveway doing chalk. Today we got a couple inches of snow and were all bundled up doing snow stuff! Wisconsin springs are confusing!  I made homemade pizza last night with a new recipe and I liked my tried and true Bobby Flay Pizza crust recipe better. But this was still good. And easy.  I was supposed to be out celebrating my birthday with my girlfriends last night and instead was on the couch with my family watching wheel of fortune.... what is this Covid life??  Lucy was very happy it snowed and that we had no plans and could build a snowman together. 💕 xo! edc.

Summer.

Scrolling thru photos and realllllllly missing summer.  Old fashioneds in the backyard.  The point at PLCBC The dock at Bay Lake Sprinklers and water tables in the backyard.  Sunsets at big C.  Popcorn/ bonfire 🔥 /loon watching  The walk from the cabin to the beach....  Come soon summer. I love u and miss u. xo. edc.

Pictures on my phone.

I would love a new phone, mostly for the camera function, as my phone works perfectly fine, but the new phone cameras are amazing. I know it’d  force me to take more pictures bc they just turn out so well! Anyway with my lack of fine photography skills, I rarely have any good content for my blog. Lol! Here are random photos on my phone from the last few weeks.  1. Sten and I paid for an actual sitter, and went to an actual dinner out. It was one of the most fun nights and we loved every minute of it. I think this is how we would spend our money if we were super-duper rich. Lots of dates.  2. I’ll call this one, Sigge on the counter eating bacon. A friend of mine makes bacon...??? I don’t know how and he brought some over the other day. Sigge loves it. He likes the most random things. I loved it too! I love friends ho have interesting hobbies! 3. I made an egg, arugula, avocado bagel after sculpt class the other day and it looked very “Instagram food” worthy. However I too...

Yesterday.

Yesterday my lovely mom came over and helped Lucy and me sew. Lucy was just as excited as you can imagine. I love seeing her excited. I am working really hard lately to encourage her to be exactly the way she is. Not to squash any bits of her personality. I want her to know and believe that she is just right. Never too much, and never too little. Why do we grow to feel this way about ourselves as women?  Not my Lucy. She can be giddy about sewing, giddy about making pillows, giddy about wearing big bows and butterfly necklaces around her neck all she wants. I love her just the way she is. And then there is this one. ALWAYS on the counter. No matter how many timeouts for climbing up there, he immediatly finds his way right back in the same spot. WHY? Because he's resillient. He's stubborn and he knows where he wants to be. Lately while putting his little bod to bed I pray, God, help him to be stubborn in his beliefs. Let him not to sway to the worlds way, but to live his life in...

Sigge-baby is TWOOOOOOOOO.

How is Sigge 2?!? I’m in a much better place than I was last year at this time when I was crying constantly thinking about him getting older. Now I am trying to enjoy his little self and excited about the years ahead. Two means tantrums, personality development and lots of mischief. All of which explain our Sigge well.   We love him so much! Happy Birthday to the boy who makes us realize we’re not in control every. single. day.  We couldn’t imagine life without you. And we also love when you're sleeping peacefully :) xo. edc.

Mexican Mole, oatmeal cookies and cooold

How are we already this far into February?!?!  The days are flying by, and I can't even believe how cold it is. I should be used to this-- but I'm just not quite there :) 2 more recipes down for trying lots of new recipes in 2021. We signed up for a cooking class from the chef we hired in Mexico and it was so fun to learn how to make mole! Lots and lots of ingredients and a million steps, but very fun non-the-less.  I have been tyring to be more mindful of what goes INTO my shopping cart, becuase inevitably it is me who ends up eating so much of the junk food-- WHY????? So, I had limited baking supplies on hand and Olle had a friend over and they wanted to make cookies... I found this oatmeal cookie recipe online and it turned out SO good.  Ingredients 1   cup   all-purpose flour ½   tsp   baking soda ¼   tsp   baking powder ½   tsp   sea salt ½   tsp   ground cinnamon ½   cup   butter   softened ½ ...

Thankful for

A really slow week. I’ve had nothing to do and no plans all week. It’s been refreshing and I haven’t once felt bored. I’ve sat on the couch with the boys and watched shows WITH them instead of trying to get a million things done while a show is on. I’ve leisurely cleaned during nap time and have spent a lot of time listening to music or to a podcast. Why is this good for me? Because I need more “boring” time in my life to force me to slow down and live in the moment.  I’m looking forward to spending time with Sten this weekend. I think Saturday evening will be a good time to open one of our Napa bottles of wine.  Happy February! One of my favorite months (my birthday + Sigge birthday + Valentine’s Day + longer days) it’s going to be so good   xo. edc.
