Summer weather.

The high temps hit this weekend and I am NOT sad about it. It made coming to school on Tuesday so confusing as it truly felt like Summer had started.  We had an awesome Memorial Day weekend. I think my favorite thing was our after dinner Willow hike. 4 miles with my favorite people and minimal complaints! It was the actual PERFECT weather.  A bike ride happened after a much needed garage clean out.  Soccer ⚽️  Root beer floats with Olen A puzzle. I should take a progress pic. We’re humming along.  Butterflies were released    Playing ticket to ride in our swimsuits bc it was so hot and the kids had just run through the sprinklers  Track workouts, Willow runs and pace runs. One more long run until taper time. How will I survive without a training schedule and seeing Haley everyday??? Lake day at Big C. We jumped into the 63 degrees lake and I don’t regret a second of it.  And my favorite scene: towels drying on the front porch— a true sign tha...

Overdue.

I feel like life is going at warp speed. Do I start every blog post with that exact sentence? I'll have to go back and look. But, we only have 10 days of school left and that really does seem wild.  Tuesday was BHP's 4k graduation and end of the year concerts. It was the greatest. I paraded my class in while every parent --their phone at the ready-- snapped pictures and took videos, and couldn't help but think about how wonderful it is to feel so loved. I hope I make my own kids feel like that. Like them walking into a space warrants being recorded. I feel a little wrapped up in myself lately. I think marathon training does that to me... over thinking my schedule and my nutrition and my sleep. I'm making it a goal this week to be a little less about me and more about the people I love. Other goals this week: take more showers, water my flowers and eat foods that give me powers. :) Here are pictures from the last month:  I met Mary for a walk to see the Johnson's bab...

1/3 of the way through 2026.

How can it be that we are 1/3 of the way through 2026. I think this is the fastest a year has gone for me and summer really flies so I should just start working on my Christmas cards now I guess.  We’ve had some full weekends and also a lot of good family time lately. I’ve been running a lot of miles and have been grateful for warm temps.  Here’s what’s been going on.  Sigge lost his front tooth and when sten sent me the picture I almost burst into tears. Every. Single. Stage of “the end” or “the last” makes me so weepy. Pull it together Erica!  Olle’s 3-on-3 team went out with a 2 win streak!  Took the kids to Starbucks for frapps and cards and it was a very enjoyable way to spend a Saturday  Sten and I went to Lolo on Saturday night and I just love this guy so much. I felt so happy to be out with him.  Soccer for the Sigster! Can’t wait for him to score a goal! He’s a hustler! Olle and I played scrabble. I am mediocre at this game but I think it’s pr...

Happenings.

Here’s what’s been going on lately: Had a day off. Went for a sunny 2 hr trail run with these beauties and it was exactly the thing that made me feel like me.  80 degree day means bread rose at a phenomenal rate and made the house smell ultra heavenly.  Sten and I went out for a date at Forepaughs and although we’ll never be able to  afford to go there again, the act of getting dressed up, putting on mascara for the first time in 2026, and having car time, restaurant time and after dinner drink time made for an amazing evening.  We went to see Great Grandma on Saturday and Sigge was such a great visitor. He even showed her how he can put his leg behind his head. She couldn’t even look!  We had chocolates and talked about our day. I hope we brightened up her mood for the hour we were there. I don’t want to get old and forget my people. 😢 A happy little thing right now is growing flowers in my classroom! They sprouted so fast. We’re tracking their growth in our s...
