How thankful I am for my Lucy. So grateful to have a little sidekick. She’s always up for mom time and that makes me very happy.  On Wednesday’s I love heading to pick her up early so I can watch her leap and twirl at dance.  Wednesday’s are also early release days from school and while Sigge sleeps we get in lots of girl time. Today we drew pictures, did yoga and read a new book together.   She’s also been interested in running a mile with me some nights!! Much to my delight. We hit the streets and she’s a natural talking about everything and rarely stopping. She knows the way to my heart ♥️  xo. edc.

sunny runs.

We had dinner guests over yesterday so after church I was busy getting ready for them, but I did get out for the most glorious 2 mile run. The sun was blazing and it felt almost like spring as I could hear the sound of snow melting around me. It’s dismal today, so I’m glad I found a tiny  window yesterday to do something I love. What a perfect way to start my week 🤩  xo. edc.

Happy 2021

2021?!? We started off New Year’s Eve with an early balloon drop at 10:30am with some friends... And ended it with a family dance party and a charcuterie board and were definitely asleep by 10p.  I’m excited for this year and a little sad to see 2020 end.  There was lots of growth that happened when I allowed myself to be uncomfortable and it was really needed.  I crossed a lot off my list and am proud of my achievements.  This year I want to pray intentionally, learn more about the Holy Spirit, run a lot of miles, read some good books, unplug more often, go back to Napa, cook some really fun new recipes (and try to teach my kids how to cook things) and go on a lot of dates with Sten.  Cheers to a new year!! xo. edc.

Christmas in Geneva

Look at all these cutie cousins together at Grammy’s house this past week. ❤️❤️❤️ Lucky us to have so many wonderful people in our lives.  Lucy and Skye at the park pretending to be sisters  Sigge boy loved Grammys park! Sibs.  Sister in laws! No one I’d rather spend Christmas with. We had so much fun together all week long. So thankful for sten and his fam.  xo edc.

Merry Christmas 2020

What a gift this year has been to me in a weird way. I feel as though I've learned to love my family better, enjoy my friendships, and grow in my relationship with Jesus.  1. We spent our safer-at-home in this very kitchen with a major reno! It's still not complete but we LOVE it and spend 99% of our lives around our massive island.  We also went through a million sticks of chalk, gallons upon gallons of sprinkler water and got some really good use out of our swing set. Sten and I perfect the old fashioned and have officially dubbed it our COVID-19 drink.   2. Sigge is still very much our baby and I don’t think that will ever change. He loves popcorn, mom, blowing kisses and whining.  3. Lucy is in 1st grade. She is the most creative girl I know and can make a piece of art out of anything. She’s a great reader, she’s awesome at math and she loves hearing about miracles. We love her.  4. Olle-Man is in 4K preschool. He loves running fast, being the bes...

1 week until Christmas!

Cheers to hot cocoa season! Also— this mug!!  Olle and his buddy Vale.  Lucy and her fake nails that lasted for 17 minutes total. But that she LOVED for those 17 minutes  This ornament from a friend!!!!!  How crazy that we’re less than 1 week away from Christmas! We have a couple things left on our list.  1. Watch White Christmas  2. Wrap presents  3. Eat Swedish pancakes  4. Spread all the holiday cheer.  5. Make a “Christmas card” on my blog.   xo. edc.

Lately.

I love this girl of mine. While praying for her last night I had a vision of a gem, almost as though God was nudging me to use that word in her prayer. I called her a rare gem, and thanked God for creating her exactly as he did. After the prayer was over she looked at me and said: “I liked, no I loved, when you called me a gem. And you said I was rare. That means hard to find.” She had the hugest smile on her face. It was as if God had given me a gift to give to her and she received it with so much joy. I’m learning so much from Lucy. And one thing that I continue to learn is to receive gifts in the same way she does. She loves them so much she uses them right away. I love her so much.  I came across this photo the other day of these 3 who are now in THE SAME preschool class. I can barely handle it. They were so tiny and now they’re big kids!  This guys makes me smile all. The. Time. He  We had our annual gingerbread house competition. And the girls reign for the second y...
