1/3 of the way through 2026.

How can it be that we are 1/3 of the way through 2026. I think this is the fastest a year has gone for me and summer really flies so I should just start working on my Christmas cards now I guess.  We’ve had some full weekends and also a lot of good family time lately. I’ve been running a lot of miles and have been grateful for warm temps.  Here’s what’s been going on.  Sigge lost his front tooth and when sten sent me the picture I almost burst into tears. Every. Single. Stage of “the end” or “the last” makes me so weepy. Pull it together Erica!  Olle’s 3-on-3 team went out with a 2 win streak!  Took the kids to Starbucks for frapps and cards and it was a very enjoyable way to spend a Saturday  Sten and I went to Lolo on Saturday night and I just love this guy so much. I felt so happy to be out with him.  Soccer for the Sigster! Can’t wait for him to score a goal! He’s a hustler! Olle and I played scrabble. I am mediocre at this game but I think it’s pr...

Happenings.

Here’s what’s been going on lately: Had a day off. Went for a sunny 2 hr trail run with these beauties and it was exactly the thing that made me feel like me.  80 degree day means bread rose at a phenomenal rate and made the house smell ultra heavenly.  Sten and I went out for a date at Forepaughs and although we’ll never be able to  afford to go there again, the act of getting dressed up, putting on mascara for the first time in 2026, and having car time, restaurant time and after dinner drink time made for an amazing evening.  We went to see Great Grandma on Saturday and Sigge was such a great visitor. He even showed her how he can put his leg behind his head. She couldn’t even look!  We had chocolates and talked about our day. I hope we brightened up her mood for the hour we were there. I don’t want to get old and forget my people. 😢 A happy little thing right now is growing flowers in my classroom! They sprouted so fast. We’re tracking their growth in our s...

Easter Flat Lays.

An Easter of flat lay photos.  Homemade rolls. Piping hot out of the oven.  Ham and pineapple. I have about 7.5 of my 8 lb ham left. Anyone need some ham?!? Cheesy puns.  Games on games.  Post egg hunt/ scavenger hunt.  Easter food prep with Sten And we opened one of our Michigan wines. Instantly takes me right back.  My peeps. 🐥  And last. An Easter carrot cake, which was actually quite a disappointment! But looked cute! This was a good day. I usually scurry around on Sundays getting ready for the week ahead, but instead I just enjoyed the day. Didn’t do chores, wasn’t productive and it felt so good. Loved spending the time with my family. It all just felt right.  xo. edc.

SB second half. + chocolate cake.

Our main girl celebrated 12.5.... how will I have a teenager in 6 months???? This chocolate cake was a winner of a recipe. Twas simple enough and the outcome was top notch. Lucy made a good choice in chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream icing-- the combo was delicious. Happy 1/2 Birthday sweet Lucy. ILYSM.  Started Saturday running in SHORTS for the first time.  11.1 miles at a ridiculously fast pace for a run with friends. All worth it for the chats and the smiles. Stillwater was beautiful this morning. Then we spent the.rest.of.the.day.outside.  We read, we ate lunch, we chalked, we basketballed, we jumped on the trampoline, we read some more, we went on multiple walks/ rollerblades and we SOAKED in allllllllll the 75 degree sun. I finally went to the library... because I am trying really hard to be on my phone less and reading a book is a great distraction. This has been a good book so far! Olle got a little sunburned. He probably shot 1,000 baskets today. Tuesday w...
