Kansas City.

Jessica and I had the chance to take a sister + Sigge trip to KC this past weekend. Each day was spent exploring, eating and shopping our way through the area. We had the best time. We wasted no time seeing the sights when we drove in on Saturday evening. Kansas City MO is such a neat city, lots to do. Here’s the view from the WW1 monument: We stopped for wood fired pizzas before taking on the million steps it took to get up here :) Sunday we went to the Country Club Plaza and had breakfast at the Oliver. YUMMMM. Then shopped the plaza until we found the Amigoni Urban Winery. After a few tastings we settled on the Syra Rosè and it was SO good. We found a spot (La Bodega) for tapas after and ended our night with a lap swim in my aunt and uncles pool. It was the dreamiest day. Everything about it. I did not want it to end.  Monday, we went to Boulevard Brewery and did the tour, then went to Jax (SO GOOD) for some seafood. We flew back to msp Tuesday morning ...

August.

Wow. How is it August already? When I think back to everything I did in July it feels like - of course a whole month went by, but when I actually look at the calendar and it says August, I feel so sad! So here’s to soaking up every last summer day before I start buying school supplies and taking 1st day of school pictures. I like to call this picture: baby, bellies and Bay Lake.  ♥️ xo. edc.

sunday.morning

Current situation: sleeping baby on my lap. Hot coffee in my mug. Educated book with no interruptions. I cannot think of a better morning.  xo. edc.

Sigge 5 months.

How can my baby be 5 months old??? Suddenly I’m jealous of all those mom-to-be’s because they are just starting their newborn journeys and mine feels like it’s slipping away. We’ve had a fun month with Sigge as he’s finally getting used to other people and is much happier overall. He loves his family, and seems to be ok with most other people for some period of time as long as he’s not too tired or hungry. He is so loved, adored by all his cousins and all the girls at church. He is so lucky to have the coolest big kids to look up to and lots of buddies to grow up with! Oh Sigge-boy. You are special. Loves his blankets! New toys and very into rattles  All of these boys are within 3 months of each other! They’ll all be in the same class!   And lastly I think these 2 cousins have a special bond. Sigge is always calm in Amos’ arms ♥️

Halfway through Summer

Summer is halfway through and this makes me sad. I’m trying not to think too much about it and focus on the positives— like this heat we’ve been having! I love this hot weather and since we have a place to go to escape the heat I don’t mind. We’ve been spending a lot of time in Stillwater. My grandma is still in the rehabilitation center there after having surgery on her leg - and now aunt Pam and uncle Dan are in town from Pennsylvania. Each morning we pack up our bags and head there and then drive home with extremely sleepy kids. It’s glorious.  Oh. Summer. xo. edc.

1959 airbnb camper.

We made a stop in Onaway Michigan on our way to camp, and I am so glad we did. We found an airbnb about 40 mins from Mackinaw and about 8 hours into our 12 hour drive. It was the perfect way to break up the trip. The hosts were awesome. They rented out their 1959 vintage camper, but what was even more amazing was the beautiful gardens and pool in their backyard. The kids thought it was the coolest thing, and after we got everyone to bed we sat out on their patio and enjoyed a glass of wine, feeling the calm of the start of vacation and the carefree feeling that comes with it. Debbie and Klaus were so kind to our kids and sent them on their way with little fairies from their garden and even a little car for Olle. We would love to go back if we decide to do Mackinac some year. So fun!   driving over the bridge. it is really amzing. Debbie's beautiful gardens! perfect way to spend an afternoon after being in the car for 8 hours! my girl. couldn't lov...

Olle is 4!!

How is it that Olle boy is 4 years old?!?! Our sweet, opinionated, passionate, particular, sensitive, fun, funny, and smart boy! Chocolate cake-- request of the birthday boy how lucky to be eating cake down by the lake, with a million cousins giving you all their love. Our guy! We ended this absolutely perfect day by a night at the point. If I could pick my dream day for my birthday it'd be exactly this Michigan day surrounded by my family and being outside from sun up to sun down. Oh Olle-- you make us so happy. I know year 4 is going to be a good one for this guy. He is ready to try out school, make some of his own friends and perfect his basketball/baseball/soccer/golf/frisbee/football/sport skills. He loves older boys and looks up to anyone with an age higher than his. He has the most infectious laugh and his sweet handsome face makes even his tantrums tolerable. I love him SO much. xo. edc.
