COVID-19 day 6: water table+ deck of cards workout

I used up A LOT of energy today. By the end of the day I was tired! I guess that’s a good thing? The mental strain it takes to make sure everything is running smoothly is almost more work than the physical running of the household! I also feel this added pressure to make this week special since it is technically our spring break... anyway.... all in all today was a good day. 1// I got out for an 8 mile run and it snowed last night so all the trees were covered and it was beautiful. I felt like it was truly a gift to be outside and witness birds chirping, little streams running, and the glistening snow lightly falling from tree branches. This picture does not look pretty— but I swear it was gorgeous out! 2// it was quiet reading time when I got back from my run: 3// then we did a workout! I stole this from a friend and the kids loved it! We’ll be doing it agin tomorrow. 4// we did some school work, then painted Easter pictures for the great grandmas, and grandparents. Sigg...

COVID-19. Day 5

Phew. Where do I begin? Sten (and a few others) worked incredibly hard on getting Midcurrent online this weekend, only for the online platform to crash for our 9am service. Completely out of our control (kind of like this virus-huh??) but a huge letdown nonetheless. Anyway. I’m proud of him for working hard to make this happen and a lot of people tuned in. I was in tears during the worship. Such crazy times. Happenings today:  1// we were Midcurrent proud. And ready to watch this morning. 2// I ran 10.5 miles while Sigge was napping and although it was windy it felt really great to be outside, running.   3// #chalkyourwalk. We did it! Hope our neighbors enjoy our little bit of encouragement!  4// we did a Carlson Power Clean— which basically means we cranked the Frozen 2 soundtrack and all cleaned as much as we could as fast as we could. We. Did. Awesome. And Olle even told me that was the most fun he’s ever had cleaning. 😂       ...

COVID-19. Day 4

The sun was shining today and the skies were blue. I was up early and the rest of the house slept in. I’m enjoying my days. Today I was at Aldi and Target to get groceries and there were a few items I couldn’t get. It’s easy to feel like this is all a dream and I’ll wake up tomorrow and everything will be back to normal. Lucy prayed tonight that we’d be back to school soon... I don’t think that’s happening. Here’s what did happen at our house. Lucy wrote a book and then read it to her finger puppets.  I did a Facebook live workout with my friends  Sigge was trying to steal toilet paper which is like the ULTIMATE offense right now.  Lucy and Olle got to play chalk outside.  We perfected our sheet pan dinner.  And I looked up so many funny memes. This one being my favorite. Although honestly there are so many good ones out there right now I can’t handle it. Sten and I laughed a lot today and that felt so good. Thankful I have him to keep me laughi...

Lucy is 6 1/2+ how we stayed sane today

We had a great day despite the fact that it was “feels like 11 degrees” outside. I’m enjoying my home life right now, and so grateful for the kids teachers who have given us work to do while we are home. Sten has been working so hard this week to make church accessible for our people and he’s seriously a rockstar. I think it’s helped that he’s been working from home over the last 3 years, so this isn’t a major adjustment for us. It’s actually been pretty fun to all be together. Today our Lucy is 6 1/2!! What?!?! We celebrated by making half a cake and singing “happy half birthday to you”. It was a lively time at the table as our whole family likes any reason to celebrate, and Lucy is worthy to be celebrated. She’s fun, creative, smart, kind and so so love able. The rest of our day: We played pillow lava:  We delivered power balls to some friends and the card said: here are some power balls to POWER through coronavirus. We listened to Adventures in  Odyssey...

COVID-19 2.

Today was a good day. we got organized at home with Lucy and Olle's desks. Sigge took 2 long naps. I cleaned out some bins downstairs. We did Frozen Yoga. We did school work. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner together. I stayed connected to the outside world through Marco Polo. My friend Hailley dropped a care package off at our front step and it was the best thing. I have realized that having this virus say NO for me is such a free-ing thing. As a YES person, this is like a dream! I don't have to let anyone down! :) Today feels less scary. I know we can do this. It will get lonely, and it will be difficult, but I'm up for the challenge. I also did my 19 push ups, 19 sit ups, 19 lunges and 19 burpees. Might as well get stronger while we are stuck inside? xo. edc

COVID-19

In an effort to remember this crazy time in our lives I want to document some of my life each day. Today was the kid’s first day without school. They did awesome. We did some school work, played a lot and went for a walk. I don’t think this is going to be an easy few weeks, but I’m trying to be thankful for the downshift and enjoy this time I get to spend with my family. Sigge was up early with me this morning. He’s really into books right now and I love watching him point to the pictures. xo. edc.

Sunday Runday

What a week. I’ve never experienced anything like this. All the more reason to get outside and run. I really feel badly for the people who won’t be able to race this early spring bc of Coronavirus. I’d be devastated if that was me and all my training was for not. Grandma’s is June 20th so hopefully we’ll be in the clear by then! RUNS// Sunday//  1.7 miles with Olle and Sigge. Olle was in and out of the stroller running with me, then scootering, then back in the stroller... I am not sure I could call it a run. Monday// boot camp Tuesday// 6 miles. 7:15 pace. Last 3 miles in the 6:40’s. Wednesday// I ran downtown to meet friends for happy hour. 4.57 miles at 7:04, then after a pokè bowl and a glass of wine I ran 4.75 miles at 7:54. Total: 9.32 miles Thursday// circuit at home Friday// 6.2 miles on the treadmill at 8:00 Saturday// 8 miles on the treadmill at 7:48. TOTAL MILES// 31.2 Favorite Run// I loved my Tuesday run. I couldn’t go until right before dinner and I didn’t...
