Hands down my favorite thing about this week was spending a long weekend in California.
I got to ring in Emily’s birthday in wine country. Talk about dreamy!
| We asked a local for a recommendation of a good view, and he did not lead us astray... We loved this sunny winery! |
| Free Birthday pour for the Birthday girl. |
| do you spy me, the only one at the pool? I swam laps in this pool after breakfast, and then basked in the sun and the California heat before checking out. What is better than a pool, at a hotel in California????? |
| We checked into the Olea Hotel and had a happy hour glass of wine on this patio and watched the sunset. It. was. perfect. Then we walked into town for dinner, where we closed the restaurant down. We literally never run out of things to talk about. The best kind of friend. |
| After Emily's birthday dinner we put on our swimsuits and sat in the hot tub for SUCH a long time. I kept going from hot-tub-to-pool-to-hot-tub, and I think we spent a total of 2 hours down there, we went to bed SOOOO late! |
| We went to 4 tastings on Monday.... all free, because we got a wine passport from our hotel! |
| These pictures are so out order, but Sunday morning we walked to Emily's favorite coffee shop, and also, got a cornmeal/cherry scone at her favorite bakery and it was so relaxing.... |
| Birthday dessert! |
| This was one of my fav's. We picked up a picinic lunch at Whole Foods, and sat in Sonoma Square Plaza and enjoyed every second of the gorgeous weather and perfect day. |
| Sebestiani Winery |
| Leaving Sonoma.... so sad! |
| Emily parked illegally so we could catch the sunset over Golden Gate.... and it was worth it, even though we got a slap in the wrist from a police officer... No ticket tho! |
| Goodbye California. You were SO SO good. |

This weekend will look a lot different than the above-- lots of kid time, church, a birthday party and a parenting class... phew!
