Thanksgiving to remember.

We braved the cabins lack of winter amenities and headed North for Thanksgiving this year. It was super special. Just the 5 of us. We had the BEST sunsets, the most cozy fire sits, a winter walk and all the fun.  It doesn’t get any prettier! A frozen silent lake.  Lots of snuggles!!!!! Warming socks fireside  My favorite memory of the trip was sitting outside with Sten talking about how lucky we are. I sat there. Staring out at the frozen lake, basking in the warm sun, feeling so grateful for Sten. Thankful that I married someone who is willing to try, who gives me encouragement when I need it and loves me more than I deserve. We had the greatest moment. One I’ll never forget.  Coloring happened a lot.  Watching the sun go down.  These 2 cuties. Lots of football! And getting to watch the Vikings WIN!!!! I LOVE THESE 3!!!!!!! Winter walk with my gal. So thankful for Lucy and how she makes me want to be a better person allllll the time.  Thanksgiving 202...

Friendsgiving.

Awww! Last night was a combo of 2 of my favorite things: thanksgiving + friends. Grateful for these people who make a random Tuesday night special and for the opportunity pause and be thankful for the friendships God has put in our lives.  Beautiful Table Funny besties.  The best wine.  Post food coma walk  “Sweater Weather” ♥️♥️ Arm wrestling 1st graders.  These boys!! SO MUCH FOOD.  SO MANY KIDS!! We kept talking about how we’re going to blink and we’ll have big kids. Right now that feels so far away. I can’t imagine the day when instead of making up 3 plates with very few items on it, my kids will be able to sit down and pass dishes and actually eat, instead of running away to play and then insisting on dessert. This time is special, and these people are special and I feel very thankful ♥️ xo. edc.

warm hellos + goodbyes.

My kids are really good at warm hellos and warm goodbyes. They make me feel like a million bucks whenever I’m leaving them or coming home.  This is 100% a trait they gleaned from Sten. He’s also very good at this. I struggle in this area, as I don’t love long goodbyes (so I skip them altogether) and am often frazzled when arriving somewhere.  I’m wanting to be better at this because it means a lot to me to receive warmth in this way. How lucky I am to have my family as an example as to how to be a better person.  xo. edc

Random things I’m thankful for.

1. Lucy wanted to see what voting was all about, so I took her with me to the polls on Tuesday. She had so many questions and it was such a fun thing to see her so interested in! Sten was teaching her ALLL the things! Thankful for a child who asks awesome questions and loves to learn. 2. Thankful for all these Midcurrent mamas wearing the new gear!! I love seeing our lobby full of volunteers before the service starts. The buzz is the best. 3. Always  thankful for Olle practicing his flexing. He wanted me to “put this picture on your blog, mom!” I love everything about Olle right now. He’s awesome. I'm more thankful for my kids than ever before. they make my days brighter. I feel grateful for the stage we are at in life. All three kids can still get into "family stuff" and get excited about bonfire nights or swimming at the Y. I know these days won't last forever, so I am trying hard to enjoy the moment. 4. Thankful for my mom. This meme summarizes my childhood. Our ho...

Friends + bonfire+ Date + kids.

Happy Birthday Jenny! You are special.  Last week we got to celebrate Jennys birthday and her new studio downtown Stillwater. It’s incredible to watch your friends do big things. So proud of this business girl who continues to inspire me through her risk taking!  Got to spend time with these long time friends (30years!) at Stens gig last weekend… it was as of no time had passed since we’d last been together.  The sun, music and wine with these 3 made it a very special afternoon We had a bonfire! Our little deck isn’t finished, but it’s usable and I love it!! ♥️♥️♥️ When Meredith was here sten and I snuck out for a date to check out Lucky Guys. We had a cocktail and then walked the pier. We are getting really good at regular dates. Makes me happy! Perler Beads = I love them and I hate them. But when it produced this picture posing with their creations— I loved them! ♥️   I was a little under the weather this weekend. But I’m on the mend and ready to get back to all th...

November.

Yesterday I was in a weird mood. I didn’t feel the best and I convinced myself that all I needed was an afternoon nap from Sigge. We snuggled in his bed, and when I got too frustrated by his squirmy-ness I told him it was quiet time and he could read books or rest, but he couldn’t come out. He came out. I put him back in his room. He came out again. This happened until I couldn’t handle it anymore and I decided instead of getting house work done I would go for a run. Armed with a sucker, some toys and shorts and a T-shirt we headed out. At first I was answering his questions and then I put my earbuds in and turned them way up and just ran- not caring if he was screaming “mom!”  As I got to the flat part of my run, a car stopped… clearly needing something- this little old lady was lost. Couldn’t she tell I was out running off my emotions with my music on and didn’t really want to stop both my music and my run?!? She asked for directions and I pointed her along annoyed by the disturb...

CO

Just got back from a quick trip to Colorado! We jammed it allllll in and I didn’t get enough pictures.    As I was tucking in Lucy tonight she asked what was my favorite part of the trip and I said this hike. Sten and I rented a car at the airport and drove straight to Estes Park. We got lunch quick and then enjoyed a hike with amazing views and bright sun. I loved every step, every break and every view.  Our reason for coming was for Sten to speak at Foundations Church. So we spent a lot of time in this building! I sat through all 3 services and was amazed at Stens ability to speak and the ways God has clearly gifted him.  When I wasn’t at church I was hanging out with Ryann and the girls! We hiked Devils Backbone and of course Ryann and I got a run in together. I love them so much.  Grateful for this short getaway! xo. edc.
