Kansas

My sissy and I travel the same way, not a lot of planning and a lot of heat and sun. We decided a trip to Kansas was in the cards and loaded up the Acadia with 4 kids, 2 adults and a million other things.  We stayed at my aunt and uncles house, and spent our days swimming in their pool, hanging with cousins and keeping 4 kids entertained. It was so fun!  These 2 little pool chicks. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ This is olle. Constantly messy, with a sassy face, wondering why we ask him to do things.  Lucy loves holding babies! Here she is holding Louie, my cousin Zach’s little guy!  We went to LEGOLAND which was the highlight for sure! It was so fun, there were rides, a 4-D movie and endless creative outlets!  This pic is out of order, but we also found a secret garden when we visited the Kansas City children’s museum. ❤️ More LEGOland fun.  We ended our time out a restaurant with crazy kids and lots of laughs.  So thankful to have a sister who will get in the car and driv...

Olle my 3 yr old

Olle turned 3 July 10th while we were at camp. What a lucky guy, spending his birthday down by the lake around a bunch of family. He asked for chocolate cake and before free time started he ripped open his very own brand new Nike’s and a basketball outfit. He immediately changed and ran around jumping and sprinting, so excited. I recently heard something about how we should receive God’s love in the same way kids receive birthday presents. They never feel like they have to earn it. Watching kids open gifts is my favorite- they get so excited, and they love everything!  Olle has high highs and low lows. When he’s at his best he is an absolute joy to be around. Non stop laughter and hugs for everyone. He cackles just to get a laugh out of others and can sing and dance with the best of them. He loves any sport and all music and has a keen fascination for mowing (basically he follows after Sten in his interests). His dream day would include being outside all day, going to the guitar st...

Family Camp

We've really packed it in over the last few weeks. I can't believe we started July with Family Camp, and now here it is: next week will be August. I hate seeing Summer fly by. July was so good to our family. We took our first Sunday off, and went to Family Camp and had the time of our lives. I have a hard time describing the magic, but it was the perfect mix of time in a beautiful place, family time, Sten and me time, away time, free time, structured time.... it was just all around a great week. Some highlights include:  One of my favorite views in the entire world. Sleeping in a tent is pure bliss for me. We camped right near Mackinac Island and the kids loved every minute of tent life.  Plus-- got to cross it off my resolution list for this year!  morning snuggles.  Why doesn't this guy sleep in at home???  Lucy took this picture. I wanted to document my 7/7 State Park 18 for 2018 goal  I'd say the highlight of Mackinac Island for us ...

Hudson 4 of July!

This weekend was a blur of activity. We had SO much fun being in the booster days parade in downtown Hudson. It was a highlight of the past year for sure. On Friday night we went to some friends house to decorate our float. The kids ran around in 98 degree heat, while the adults "supervised" and made our float look amazing. These three blond diaper babes. <3 Saturday morning this huge crew lined up at the start. The parade was awesome- we handed out 1,000 freezees, invite cards and stickers. After the parade some friends invited us to their pool. We stayed until we were all prunes and it was time for dinner. This was one day packed with all things summer and fun. If you've been around Olle for any significant amount of time you'll know about Easton. His favorite 9 year (or maybe person) from Midcurrent. Easton is the sweetest to Olle, he plays with him, gives him lots of attention and in return, Olle follows him around like a puppy calling ...
