Friday Favorites.

This weekend includes: dinner club, catching up and baby dedications at church! We had such a full week filled with great things. Here’s my 2 favorites:  1. Sten and I got in our 3/12 date at swinging bridge with a super cute 3rd wheel (who slept the whole time). There are no hours in my day that go as fast as when you’re on a date— am I right?!? 2. Love this super awkward picture of my kids “measuring” against each other. I hope in a year we can recreate this picture and see how they’ve all grown! happy friday. xo. edc.

Sigge 5.5 weeks.

Our littlest love. Sigge is growing so fast. I love his shoulder snuggles and they way his body curls up when I pick him up out of his car seat. I love his big stretches after a nap and how he is so expressive with his eyebrows. He’s losing his hair, so he looks like a cute old man and I can’t get over how much he reminds me of Lucy and Olle when they were babies. I’m really savoring things this time around. I’m thankful that the big kids are a little more independent and that spring means we can get outside and share our love of the outdoors with our favorite little guy.  I’m definitely not wishing time away. I’d rather her freeze the clock and live in newborn land forever and ever. 🥰

Warmth

a poem for spring. Warm weather, sun on my face Springy outfits adorned with lace Olle + Lucy outside all day Chalk, scooters and bikes they play Picnic outside on the blanket we sit I hear Sten say: olle, go grab your mitt! Sigge loves the Vitamin D I’m content with him strapped to me. Walks around the blocks, neighbors out When it’s time to go inside we all pout. This season reminds us how tough we are We survived a bad winter, and we need to wash our car. Spring, don’t leave, I hope you’re hear to stay Let’s all go outside and make it a great day! xo. edc.

Spring Break

I’m totally slacking on blog life. Sten has reminded me multiple times 😉. We spent the week in Chicago visiting family and friends. Olle and Jonah! They played laser tag the whole time we were at Lauren’s house. Meanwhile, Elin and Lucy did girly stuff and no one wanted to leave.  We went into the city to have dinner with Mim and made a pit stop in Lincoln Square. One of our favorite Chicago ‘hoods. It was fun to show the kids our old stomping grounds. (I sound like I’m 50+) Love these 2 big kids. And Sten 😉 Now we’re home and trying to get back in the swing of things. Sigge is 5 weeks old today and I just can’t believe it. Love him so much. I want him to stay this little forever and ever.  XO. edc.

3 week old Sigge +

Can’t believe I’ve been staring at this guy for 3 weeks now. This was my first week home with all the kids and I’m happy to say we survived and thrived! I got us out to the library, remembered that it was spirit week at school and dressed Lucy appropriately (4 out of the 5 days), and hosted lots of visitors. It was a great week. We sure do love this little nugget. Other happenings: grammy was here! As you can see from the smiles, the kids had a ton of fun!!!!! and Sigge was spoiled with lots of Grammy snuggles! Sten and I had 2 dates while Grammy was here! woohoo!! We checked out the new brewery in Woodbury this past weekend. All the toys! The post feeding naps are my fav! Great Grandma Kay! Love this picture We are loving life as a family of 5! xo. edc

Snow. Snow. Snow.

It’s still very cold and snow continues to accumulate outside. I honestly can’t remember the last time there was this much snow we were responsible for plowing/shoveling. And by we I mean Sten, because at this point I’m not able to help him out at all! Sten took the big kids to the YMCA this afternoon and I had a chance to make a list of things to get done and I checked them all off! It was so quiet in our house with little Sigge in the swing and me folding laundry next to him and putting things in their place. It was a really needed break for me and felt so thankful for my home, the Y, and Sten- who takes care of me! While cleaning, I lined up all our slippers and found so much joy thinking about how warm these keep our feet, and how someday soon there will be 5 pairs of slippers to line  up! Friday night is burger night at our house and Sten and I made baked onion rings as well as a chipotle aoli (both of which were delicious)! All around it was a great day despite the s...
