Last week of summer vacation.

I am in complete shock that this is our final full week before school starts. If you’d have asked me 2 weeks ago how I thought about going back to school I would have said I was ready. Now I feel rushed and as if I didn’t get everything in that I wanted to.  We’ve had an amazing summer full of everything we love. Family time. Friend time. Lots of water and boat rides. An insane amount of charcuterie boards. All of the good things.  Here’s a small snapshot of the rest of our August:  boat rides with Sten I'm so glad this dude isn't going to kindergarten yet! I love this girl of mine. ready for a paddle. quick pose in Stillwater a boat ride with friends. While Sten was gone we had a morning Panera date. SIGGGGE!! Camping at Willow River.

I decided to take my advice, and live it up. So when Sten booked a campsite for him and Olle at Willow River, we seized the day and took the whole gang!  We walked down to the beach before bedtime and I’m so glad we did. This sunset was so beautiful and these 2 kids are the cutest.  Setting up camp. Sigge was liking the hiking pack! Sten is the best at getting camp ready.  The kids love being in the tent! Little acrobat Lucy  Hike to the beach! One of the biggest highlights: carving sticks. Roasted hotdogs for dinner. So classic.  Who doesn’t love snuggles with Sigge?? This guy was a camping dream! He did so good.  Glad we kept our streak alive of going camping with the kids every year since Lucy was born! It was a great night. xo edc.

August.

I don’t know how I feel about it being August... I feel excited for routine to start back up, but sad that the carefree days since March are coming to an end. I spent this week recovering from lots of action in July. I’m walking into the weekend with a calm spirit and a feeling of really attempting to take advantage of each opportunity August throws at us so we look back and say: wow. We really squeezed it all out!  Also attempting a somewhat dry August which will be hard and good. I have some friends holding me accountable so I’m feeling very invested and determined. I’ve also committed to praying for my kids each morning at 7:19am. I stop what I’m doing and pray.  Writing things down in the blog is another form of accountability so even tho I fear sounding silly putting this out there, I’m all about setting myself up for success!  It’s been a low-key week, here are some things: This little guy with his smirks.  I had soooo much laundry to do when we got home from t...

Bay Lake is always good to us, and this trip was no different. We did a lot of swimming, exploring, boating and fishing. All things that make a perfect cabin vacation.
