2021 Favorites.

Here are a few of my favorite moments of 2021. #1. This weekend at the lake was maybe my biggest highlight of our year. We decided on a total whim to head up after the cabin was already closed... no running water and cool temps. It checked all the boxes for me. Total adventure, spur of the moment, super low key, beautiful, unexpected perfect weather and my favorite people in the world.  It's hard not to feel like we are our best versions of ourselves when we are at the lake. We are all a little kinder, a little more relaxed, and always adventure-ready. I hope the kids feel it too. It's special. #2. Fishing. Felt like this was the year that everyone was REALLY into it. And fishing means you're at the lake, so it's always a good thing. Big C holds a million memories for me already, and I feel like it is my second home in the summer. I love that the kids just get to roam free and be super independent and enjoy nature. I've realized this year that I need more nature mor...

First SNOW ❄️

What a happy morning to wake up to a BUNCH of a snow!!  Not sure how much we actually got, but it’s super super beautiful and against the blue skies it makes my heart leap with happiness.  The whole fam+2 neighbor friends got out to enjoy the snow and then the kids came in for cocoa and kept playing all morning.  So. Much. Snow gear.   I’m so happy that even Sigge is excited about being outside this year. It makes winter a lot more fun!  xo. edc.

Willow hike+gingerbread houses+ hudson + Christmas

December is here! I love alll the days leading up to Christmas. I heard it said once that December is a month of feasting… and not just in the food sense, it’s a time to say yes to things you’d usually say no to, to jam pack your house with decorations and bright lights, to spend lots of time with people you love… and this is true for me this month. I do find myself packing it all in.  Lately: 1. Adventure Club. We met at Willow River with headlamps on to hike and then hopped in Abby’s hot tub with festive drinks and chatted the night away.  2. Gingerbread competition. Where the girls once again took it away and won.  3. I let Sigge help me make the gingerbread dough…. And he WOULD be the kid that turns the Kitchenaid mixer to 10 after we’ve just put in the flour! Lol.   4. The lights downtown Hudson are just BEAUTIFUL right now! We enjoyed a stroll through Lakefront park.  5. Countdown to Christmas candle is going strong.  6. It was such mild weather last ...

TN DAY 29

I’ve missed quite a few days here….  I’m thankful for: 1. Getting to make wreaths, porch pots and swags at Leverty Traditional Trees.  2. The face Sigge gives me when I say he can’t have more pop.  3. Flourless chocolate torte.  4. Friendsgiving.  5. Reese’s Peanut Butter pie that I made for the first time this year. Carrying on traditions is high on the list of things that make me happy.  6. A SMALL hair trim for Lucy.  7. Friends.   8. Puzzles.  9. Skip Bo 10.  The best experience Christmas decorating with kids we’ve ever had.  11.  Midcurrent Church.  12. Sigge drinking my celery juice and eating avocado toast for breakfast.  It’s been a good month. 1more day! xo. edc.
