What a weekend!  We spent a lot of time getting ready for our BIG Michigan trip! But we also got to see friends, go on a water slide and sit on the front porch…. Hailley rented this ginormous water slide and we enjoyed it to the max on Friday night! The kids went down 100x and Mary and I had to try it out. It was SOOOO fast!  Friday morning we met Mason and Amara at Glover Park. It was so fun to catch up in person with Ashley and to hike around the park together.  Saturday was spent mostly packing and getting ready for our big trip, but sten and I also found a moment to sit on the porch and listen to the rain and it was GREAT  Sigge was ready for our trip with his bunny and his duck and then he proceeded to not sleep the entire 6 hour trip to Geneva… whyyyyy?????  We are ready for a fun 2 weeks. My goal is to get IN the water EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. with the kids… this is a lofty goal for me, but I’m going to go for it! I want this to be a vacation where I am fully ...

It’s been a great week. We’ve packed A LOT in and enjoyed our little slice of earth to the max before heading out to Michigan in a couple days.  On Monday I took the kids strawberry picking. We got to ride on a tractor to the field and Sigge was very excited about that. The crop wasn’t the greatest, but the kids were TOTAL troopers and we were able to make 4 jars of strawberry jam, so it felt like a win.  I can’t handle Sigge and his sleeping. I am well aware of how ridiculous it is that I have so many pictures of him sleeping. I just love it so much.  Running in the summer is truly the greatest gift. It takes me about 4 seconds get ready, and it’s already light by 5am.  I’ve never been more thankful for Lucy’s front teeth. After a toy-throwing incident in the bathtub Tuesday night, which left Lucy’s front tooth half chipped off, we were able to get it fixed right away with a perfect match and her smile is more beautiful than ever.   I have about 7,000 thin...

We had the best time celebrating Sten and the AWESOME dad he is up at Bay Lake this past week. The weather was great and the water was warm. It's always sad when the van is packed and we are driving away from our favorite place, so looking through all these pictures makes me so happy.  xo. edc. Sigge was a STUD in the water... each year gets better and better and he makes me so proud! Lucy caught the biggest fish of the week!! We were all very happy for her! The sandy shallow island is our go-to spot! Bay Lake is my fav spot to run happy sigge captain sigge this is our fisherman. Olle is a natural. we got to see GREAT GRANDMAAAAA!!!!!!!! I hope you know how loud this game of running was love that little lucy bum post run, coffee, listening to my book, sun, sitting on dock... happiest time of day. naptime lounging is close second.... quality time with sten... I LOVE THIS GUY SO MUCH!!  

In an effort to get 30 mins of quiet in my day I have instituted “quiet reading time” as soon as Sigge goes down for a nap. I set the kitchen timer and send Olle and Lucy up to their room. Now that Lucy is home all day though I find her reading all the time. To the boys on the couch, on the porch in the morning, well after the 30 mins of reading time is over…. It makes me so happy. She’s always been a book lover and I’m excited to see where this hobby takes her.  xo. edc. 

WOW! IT IS SUMMER!!! The Sun is out and it is HOT!!! I love it so much. I spent the majority of the last 7 days outside and can't believe how much we are lucking out with this beautiful weather. Today has been our first day at home. We cleaned the house, picked out a toy at the dollar store, grabbed a big stack of library books and are hanging out in the AC. Sometimes home days are SO restful, and other times home days are SO exhausting...  Here is a peek at the last 7 days.... Thursday: Last day of school!! Carnival at BHP!! look at these tough guys haha Lucy and Lyla BHP alumni :) Friday and Saturday were Big C days with cousies. Late night fishing and swimming I never tire of this view... the walk down the lawn to a beach filled with my favorite people. Sunday was SCOOP OF SUMMER at church and it was a BLASTTTT!!!!! Lucy went home with her friend Hartley and they did lots of girly craft stuff :) That night I got to have a special date with Mary and Hailley... we stayed out SO la...

 Our Olle-man is officially a KINDERGARTENER!!!!  How is this possible?!?  I officially think preschool graduation is the cutest thing in the entire world. He sang songs like a CHAMP. And when he grows up he wants to be a Football player for the Minnesota Vikings.  It’s going to be sad not to see all his little buddies everyday next year! This was such a sweet class and I enjoyed getting to know them all through aftercare this fall.  Olle is a leader, so determined and has a heart of gold. We love him so.  xo. edc.
