Top golf+bday+bike rides

It's been a really fun last few days of summer vacay. I can't believe Lucy heads to 2nd grade this morning and Olle heads to Kindergarten on Thursday....  WHERE did 3 months go??? We used the Top Golf gift card we got dad for Father's Day back in 2019.... finally and it was SO fun. I want to go back, maybe this will have to become a yearly tradition, because we all had a blast. We also had the most perfect Summer night, and it felt so good to relax in the open air! Friday night we celebrated Hailley's Birthday with a trolley ride to Matchstick in Stillwater. Thankful for friends and for a reason to get dressed up and celebrate such an AMAZING girl The kids had a sleepover at Jessica's on Friday night, so Saturday morning I headed out for a run... I got to downtown and called Sten to see if he wanted to bike with my across the border into Afton since we never get to do that. It was SO fun for me to have him bike alongside!! I wish I could do all my training runs with...

Running.

Im thankful for the solitude running has brought me this summer. The countless hours I’ve spent alone on the roads.  The mornings I’ve felt a prompting by the Holy Spirit to turn off my music and listen or pray, or when I’ve climbed a hill and seen the sun shining it’s brilliant yellow light. I like the solitude and I need it so badly. I need to slow down and appreciate my surroundings, and I need to know God is bigger than my tiny slice of the world.  I walked in the front door this morning and heard the familiar click of the door closing as I kicked off my tennis shoes- an act I do everyday and yet today it felt different, like a big giant hug from someone who knows you and totally gets you. It felt like this rhythm that has been engrained into my everyday has become the very thing that makes life feel comfortable, predictable and known. I will always hear the door click, and I will always take my tennis shoes off. I will continue to turn off my headlamp, remove my earbuds a...

Last taste of summer.

One last family trip to Bay Lake. It started out SO SO hot and then ended in us wearing sweatshirts and pants and drinking hot coffee.  Favorites included: swimming at the sandbar, runs along bay lake, playing lots of games and eating ice cream cones on the dock :) Very very sticky/melty/ tasty  We love the sandbar and always have fun on “non-busy” days bc we have the place to ourselves! Hammocks are always a big hit-- took this picture from inside looking out at them. I love it when they play together for 17 seconds.   Picture at the walleye  Olle ran 1.5 miles with me and I think he’s amazing! I enjoyed my 20 miler with clouds and wayyyy cooler temps on Saturday morning.  This guy is always making us laugh.  Playing Rummikub.  Playing Yahtzee. Playing tractor in footie jammies with crocs.  Sad to say goodbye after such a fun short little time!  xo. edc.

Today

I started off my day in the best way possible. Prayer with friends at 5:30 and then a run on fresh legs.  We have no plans today and it feels so good to blast church music and clean the house.  It’s going to be a good day.  xo. edc.
