Where do you live.

Cup of Jo asked readers the other day, where do you live? The answers were so fun to read as she has such a wide following. It made me wonder what I would say if I were to ever publicly respond on her comment section of which she asked: So! Three questions for you: * Where do you live? * Who do you live with? * What are the funny little things about your household?  Here I go: I live in Hudson WI in a corner house with my husband of almost 15 years and 3 kids ages 9,7 and 4. I am horrible at decorating and we are the type of people who start DIY’s and then *maybe* finish them so the funny thing about my home is there are a lot of things that aren’t done. Right now off the top of my head I can think of 5. But I love our home. My favorite part is a new little nook we made on whim one cold winter weekend. We sit here all the time and have lovingly given it the name “the spot” which was a family vote. It’s in the center of all the bustle and I can’t imagine living without this place th...

Long weekend

Hard to go back to life when it was as good as it gets over the weekend.  Kicked off Friday night with a pool party at Erins. Where the food was delicious, the kids were crazy and the company was the best.  Saturday was spent running with Kim in the morning, at the soccer fields for Lucy’s game and then home for yard work and water fun.  Coffee after a long run is my fav.  Sunday was a long trail run, church and Stens gig at Belle âme where we stayed well after closing and I got to watch sten be amazing with my favorite people!  Sunday was an 11 mile bike ride with the fam and lots of fun at Big C. Missed Jessica and Mike, but it got me soooo excited for summer!! 9 MORE DAYS OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!  xo. edc.

Sten:MVP

Love this picture of Sten. So much. Makes me remember how much he gets missed on the ol blog, but that is not an indication of how much I really appreciate him and how much he does for our family. Love this guy so much. He is the true MVP. xo. edc.

My life right now is equal parts Lego bins and legit schedule master. Never have both been so true for me.  It feels like I’m either 100% disconnected from the reality of life or a task mastermind, getting stuff done at a rapid pace and checking all the things off the list.  I’m not sure how I like living in both worlds. My personality is more comfortable in the “lack of schedule, lazy everything” category but I will admit it feels good to be productive.  They say May sneaks up on you as the busiest month and this has never been more true than now. I’m feeling it, and add one more thing to the schedule and there’s a possibility my family will only eat PBJ’s for the rest of the month.  Other photos on my phone: Visiting Great Grandma + some of the grands! Cutie boy.  Mother’s Day hike ❤️ Lotsssss of Willow Running.  Girls night at Heidi’s with my main squeeze.  Girlfriend got new glasses 👓!  I’m missing SO much. xo. edc.

Weekending + Trail Run

what a weekend! We finally experienced a warm day, Lucy crushed the goalie position at soccer, Olle had a good win on the football field, Sten kept our family going, Sigge was along for the ride and I ran a 20 mile trail run.   I don’t have any pictures of the kids sports because I wasn’t there. I got up at 5a on Saturday morning having no idea what to expect for this 20 miler. I luckily had Haley and Kim to show me the ropes and I had the best time ever!  The Willow Trail Run (WTR) is two 10 mile loops with over 2,000 ft of elevation. The 3 of us stuck together for the first loop, the time flew by and my legs felt great! We left Kim for the second loop and picked it up a little bit, I got a rock in my shoe and had to stop on one of the huge uphills to re-tie. We kept going. At 4 miles to go we saw the lead female stopping to tie her shoe and Haley said: this is a sign! Go! So I left Haley, ran up the ginormous paved hill after the falls and never looked back. It felt so ...

Puddles, trails, sports.

Saturday was pretty gloomy, but we got outside when the sun peeked out and then we were met with a quick downpour. Sten and I ran for the front porch, but Sigge decided he had to get wet, Lucy joined him and the jumped in puddles until the sun came out again and then promptly decided to go in.  Post puddle jumping: Pre puddle jumping: I love how kids are. Personally I would never jump in a puddle. I would think through all the annoying things that follows… being wet, cold, having to peel off wet, cold clothes and then wash them, having dirt all over my face. But kids are thinking why WOULDN'T you jump in the puddle?! They’re thinking: you make a big splash and a ninja move while at it!  I love that about them.  Also, this is Sigges puppy dog face that he uses regularly to try to get his way: What is better than a sunny trail run? Ummmm, nothing. Felt like God was smiling down real big at me while I ran, because I was filled with so much joy 🤩  Saturday morning was 3...
