weekly round up

 I started my week with a family hang at big c, where an epic game of HORSE was played and I was the first one out :) A walk at Willow River happened Monday morning. It was nice to be in nature, walking. I realized driving home that maybe that’s what I missed most while dealing with the foot pain last month. I couldn’t even go on walks. Walking is such a lovely way to take it in.  Haley and I finally made it to Willow on Thursday for our traditional "Thursday Trail Run"... boy did that feel good! Crazy how nature has a way of completely resetting your mood. Sigge and I had a “drawing competition” where we couldn’t look at the hulk and had to draw it from memory. He totally won. I’m amazed by him every day.  On Earth Day Sigge and I went on a trash walk and found a lot of trash! 2 bags and an old sign. We had so much fun and it felt good to do something nice to the earth.  We met Harry, Crosby and Haley at the park and ran around in the woods. The time zoomed by. Spri...

Recently….

I don’t have many pictures over the last couple weeks. Not sure why? But I’m turning over a new leaf and committed to finding the joy in each day and each area of life. This is what I prayed for the morning of the Milwaukee marathon. Haley and I knew we hadn’t trained and we would be taking it easy, so I prayed that we’d find a little joy in each mile. This came in especially handy when we left each other at mile 18 and I had to keep a strong mental game. I remember specifically going under this ginormous bridge and I felt thankful for the reminder that I am small and God is big. The blue skies and blue lake helped too. I continue to be thankful that I get to run and that I have the support and love from my family to keep going.  The big kids have some great neighborhood friends and often after school they head straight out the door to see if they can play. I love this as it is a mirror of my childhood with my best friend living 7 doors down. But often, after being home with mom al...

Friday Favorites.

Favorites from the week: Took a break from sourdough and made old fashioned white sandwich bread and it was good for the soul.  Sigge and I have a goal to read a big stack of books every afternoon and although sometimes he’s not excited to start, he never wants to stop once we get through them all- and I may close my eyes for a few minutes while we’re snuggled in together. I know I’ll miss these afternoons with my favorite 5 year old.  The wind died down and the sun popped out — so family walk it was after dinner Thursday. There were no complaints and the last “I spy with my little eye” clue that Sigge gave was something blue and it was THE SKY!! Because the sky was blue and not gray. Also- seriously, how do you spell grey? Gray? Grey?  I RAN for the first time Friday in 3 weeks. I’ve never felt more thankful for my feet than I was for those 11 minutes of no pain. The sun, the blue skies and the no pain made me feel so much like myself I could cry.  A very successful...

Easter 2023 ++

Easter at MC was a success! The lobby was full and I’m praying that people walked out of the doors with the hope of Jesus in their hearts.  Sleeping Queens on repeat over here.  Snow storm/ snow day meant playing with friends outside and building all the snowmen.  Visiting the big kids at lunch 🥰 Chocolate Milk and school lunch tacos. Brings me right back to 4th grade at Armstrong Elementary School We dyed Easter eggs. Bc why not?!?  Ice skating at the Hudson rink for Jeremy’s 40th Birthday! What a fun way to celebrate! Easter at mom and dads with the fam. Brunch was delicious, fam time is my favorite and the egg hunt was hilarious bc dad hid the eggs too early and the squirrels ate through the eggs to get the candy — everyone had fun.  Relaxing.  😎 .  I made a teeny ham. Some super yummy cheesy potato hash brown things and green beans… And now it’s April. I feel a little depleted in life right now. I have Plantar Fasciitis in the right heel and I’m ...
